Rumor i just read on the internet...

:D

Sorry for the dumb title. I was looking up flouride videos and found these comments left by the girl who posted one of them. Do you think this is BS? I hoping someone can confirm or deny. :call2:

There is no shortage of filters claiming to remove fluoride, however according to someone I know who makes filters and is thoroughly informed on the subject, the Berkey fluoride filter works for about a week at removing fluoride.

what about when we have showers and baths, is it absorbed into our skin?

Thanks - I was hoping somebody else would say it.

There is no commercially sold filter that removes fluoride, even though they tell you they do. This is according to chemists who have worked with it and people who build water filters.

The thing about fluoride is that it isn't removed by carbon filters.

However, it can be removed from water in a couple of different ways:

1. Reverse osmosis
2. Distillation
3. Aluminum oxide (Actival)

There aren't any unusual limits to the capacity of any of those approaches other than the published numbers.

I would really like a specific ion meter, or some other way to easily test for fluoride. You can use all the filters you want but if you don't know if they work it's pretty silly.

that is my understanding as well, that there is no filter method available. I have been told RO or reverse osmosis is the only method that will do it. We looked into it with our water filter company at work and thats what they told us. $$ big big as well so we did not do it.

RO will remove alot of it, but not all of it.
Read up on Iodine supplementation, iodine is in the same chemical family as Cl, Br and F (halogens). If you can become Iodine sufficient, it will flush the other halogens out of your body.

I drink bottled water whenever possible.
No more fluoride toothpaste either, Tom's of Maine makes one without F.
You can make a calcium salt by dissolving eggshells in vinegar (Calcium Acetate), then put 1-2 drops into each drink, it will bind the fluoride ions into Calcium Fluoride, which is almost 100% insoluble in water.

The Iodine therapy is a bit complex, and takes awhile to be effective. I am hitting my stride after 6 weeks right now and I feel AMAZINGLY WELL. It is worth the research.
